Seven years on Fourth Avenue

I document storefronts, stoops, and long-standing neighbors before the neighborhood shifts out of focus. Every series begins on manual rangefinders and ends on heavy archival paper pulled through our studio press.

Hand-stitched editions

Every project begins with a mechanical rangefinder camera and rolls of 400 ISO film along local corridors, waiting for unscripted natural light and unposed street interactions.

Negatives are developed in chemical baths under amber safety lamps, printing fiber-based silver gelatin sheets without modern computer retouching or algorithmic filters.

Finished prints are trimmed, folded, and sewn into archival linen covers using bone folders, beeswax thread, and woodblock title stamps.

Studio pledge

No digital shortcuts, no synthetic noise: only real silver, paper, and physical ink.

When neighborhood memory is reduced to ephemeral phone screens, tangible paper objects endure. Every sheet holds the scent of drying ink, genuine fiber weight, and the permanence of physical care.
